COMPETITIONS FOR 2024

Open to members and to children in the village.

Spring Photography

Take any picture capturing the ‘Essence of Spring’ in 2024.  Entries by 24th March.  You can include one sentence as a title or caption. Winners will be announced at the Spring Show.

Potato in a Bucket

Potatoes will be available at the Ploughman’s Lunch, or afterwards.

  • Grow your spud in a builder’s bucket with holes (max 14L).
  • By 5th July, e-mail or text the weight along with one photo of the potato growing in its bucket, and one photo of the crop on the scales.
  • The winner will be announced at the Summer Show. 

Grow a plant from a plug

Who can grow the prettiest flowering plant?

Collect your plug plant from the Spring Show and grow it on. Maximum pot size 8”. Bring it to the Summer Show. Public Vote.

Largest Sunflower Head

We will give you 5 sunflower seeds at the end of March/early April. Sow seeds in pots under glass, or outdoors a bit later. Bring your entry to the Autumn Show on 14th Sep between 9.15-10.45. The winner will be announced in the afternoon.
